In the Bible, God is quoted as having spoken many times e.g. In Genesis God said, “Let there be light”. The Godhead (also called the Trinity) consists of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, all of which form a unified entity. The Word of Knowledge, Speaking in Tongues, Spiritual Discernment, Prophecy and Interpretation of Tongues all involve communication with God through the Holy Spirit. God sent His Holy Spirit to His people after Jesus Christ ascended up into Heaven fifty days (hence the name Pentecost) after rising from the grave, and He came like cloven tongues of fire into the apostles while they prayed remembering what Jesus had said to them. If we have the Holy Spirit in us, He can communicate with us and through us. The Holy Spirit is a Comforter and Friend that can help you throughout your life and in many aspects throughout your walk with Him. There are two forms of baptisms, Water Baptism and Baptism through the Holy Spirit (which speaking in Tongues is evidence of). The Holy Spirit can guide you and give you the aforementioned Gifts of the Spirit. God can communicate to you through His Holy Spirit. So as Christians we should wish that the Holy Spirit enters and refills us, releasing Spiritual Gifts.
Being filled with the Holy Spirit is like providing momentum in an object, you need to be constantly refilled with the Holy Spirit otherwise the momentum is eventually lost and your vessel runs dry. As a practising Christian we go to Church to praise and worship the Lord, and in praise and worship we become anointed and filled by the Holy Spirit. Through prayer with the elders of the Church, coupled with your Faith, you can get baptised in the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a means of God communicating with you and providing a link with God and His Spirit within you.
