The Bible states that food and raiment (clothing) therewith we should be content. We have many worries that may creep in for new Christians, this is our worldly and old man understanding and habits taking effect. Such worries may be with our jobs, relationships, children, bills and possessions, but if you’re a Bible believing Christian, and take what the Bible says into consideration, we should try to be content with clothing and food and not put our security in our bank balances or possessions, but in God.
The Bible states that the lilies of the field are better arrayed than Solomon was (the most wealthy and wisest King of Israel) but they neither toiled or spun (make clothing). The Bible also states that God cares for the sparrows, and not one falls down without His knowing, but we are worth many sparrows and there is not one hair on your head that isn’t numbered and known to God. The ultimate relationship we should have with God is to seek, trust and rely upon Him, and not by our own might and strength and carnal and worldly understanding. If you have a problem, go to God about it first, let Him be your first port of call. God in His infinite understanding and wisdom will work out a way for you to be an overcomer, although He may answer your prayers at times and ways that you least expect.
It is important to note that you, as a Bible believing Christian should seek to be Baptised. The Bible states the He who believes and is Baptised will be saved (Gospel of Mark). There are two Baptisms in the Bible, Water Baptism and Baptism in the Holy Spirit. By undergoing Water Baptism, you are burying the old man with Jesus and resurrecting as the new man, your old life and sins have passed away and you are a new creation. It is important to note that some weaknesses in your Christian walk will disappear instantly when you begin believing and following Christ, although the devil knows your weaknesses better than you, and you may fall back into sin. The important thing is to repent of your sin and ask for the Lord’s forgiveness, and when knocked down, repent and keep getting back up.
