Some Interesting Bible Facts vs. Science

Did you know the Bible (sixty-six books, chosen as canon, in the King James Version) contains knowledge and wisdom beyond the scientific understanding and establishment of the times when the holy books were written. This demonstrates that the holy authors’ writings were beyond the science at the time of writing and are commonly overlooked. The Bible states that all scripture is written by the inspiration of God, who is eternal. Furthermore, the holy prophets had the Holy Spirit, and He acted through them and filled them, giving them the words to say and to write, which we read as Christians in the Bible.

Such biblical concepts include concepts of antiseptic, germs, quarantine, the earth being a sphere, the alphabet, atomic warfare and concepts of quantum mechanics in terms of our current understanding of reality, which is only coming into understanding now in modern physics research. The important thing is to know that even though our current understanding of science is always being changed and/or enhanced, and admittedly there are many core assumptions scientists make, God cannot be ruled out or disproven. He is the creator of the universe (which means “one-voice”, God’s), and the Father has perfect/infinite Wisdom. It is not surprising scripture has certain gems of wisdom in them, even for scientific minds.

Book of Isaiah

“It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:”

Circle of the earth sounds a lot like the earth is a circle/sphere. Many people thought the world was flat during Isaiah’s time.

Book of Zechariah

And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

This is a prophecy of a future war. This seems to be describing atomic warfare (eyes and flesh melting while they stand).

Book of Numbers

“And a clean person shall take hyssop, and dip it in the water, and sprinkle it upon the tent, and upon all the vessels, and upon the persons that were there, and upon him that touched a bone, or one slain, or one dead, or a grave:”

Hyssop, a herb, was used for cleansing and as an antiseptic before germs were discovered, and verified for its germ killing qualities. The person who discovered germs, Ignaz Semmelweis, in the eighteen hundreds, was put in an insane asylum.

Book of Daniel

“All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing,
But He does according to His will in the host of heaven
And among the inhabitants of earth;
And no one can ward off His hand
Or say to Him, ‘What have You done?’”

God is Almighty and Omnipotent, meaning all powerful and nothing is impossible with God. The wave-function collapse of the Schrodinger equation is assumed to be probabilistic and random in nature at its core. This has been a long debate called the “Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics” and is still debated today. Firstly Einstein stated “God does not play dice!”, and Richard Feynman stated that if anyone thinks they understand quantum mechanics, they don’t understand quantum mechanics, noting the wisest minds of the time did not understand what was happening at the core of reality.

At the forefront, wave-function collapse is assumed to be purely random all the time. While a random collapse may be observed at times, God can alter the collapse of the wave-function in a way that certain outcomes and events spanning over time and space can be divinely ordered, such as divine providence and miracles. It is not beyond our understanding of the universe ironically, just some core assumptions that is is entirely random and probabilistic are wrong.

Einstein was right, God does not play dice. This is why prophecy can determine future outcomes, how God parted the waters for Israel (unlikely in Quantum Mechanics but not ruled out and an impossibility), and even objects passing through physical barriers (Quantum Tunneling) etc. These are highly improbable but not impossible in Quantum Mechanics.
