As Christians, we are fighting not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers of darkness in this world. God does not leave Christians exposed without providing everything we need for spiritual warfare. The Armour of God is explained in the Book of Ephesians, chapter six. One of the most important aspects of defense in spiritual warfare is the Shield of Faith. The Shield of Faith is used to block or stop the fiery arrows of the devil. But how to engage and use the Shield of Faith?
The Shield of Faith needs Faith to shield you. Without Faith you are exposed to spiritual attack, your shield is down. Attacks can manifest physically, emotionally and spiritually. Demons, fallen angels, evil spirits and the devil himself can attack you. So you need to engage your Faith in Jesus Christ, to shield you from the fiery darts of the devil. Faith means to entirely Trust in God/Jesus. The Greek word from which the word Trust was translated in the English Bibles is “Pisteuo”. “Pisteuo” means not just stating that you believe, but implicitly relying, trusting and following Jesus Christ and His teachings. So make this a priority, have and practice Faith and Trust in Jesus Christ, this will enable the Shield of Faith to be active.
